While the SAM Coupe had Manic Miner we didn't have JSW, or JSW2 - my fav! ☹️ So I had to design, code and publish my own games in the same style! 😃 'Money Bags' spanned 3 games over the years. MB1 and 1 1/2 now feature with SAM Revival. Updated re-release of MB2 coming soon.

Sampling some dub percussion loops from an old Computer Music coverdisk at 2x their proper tempo & 22kHz = very Disjecta / Succour-era Seefeel crunchy sounds

Manic Miner is a true #retrogaming classic, I enjoyed it on the #ZXSpectrum, then in the 1990s on the #SAMCoupe which has to be the definitive #8bit version, with 60 caverns! I recently revamped the back issue of SAM Revival magazine (#9) which features the game on the coverdisk. www.samcoupe.com

Public Domain Magazine, the bible of free software for Amiga, ST and PC has never been scanned. Until now!

We look at its complex coverdisk, how you got free software when the internet was only 3 months old and what connects this show and the magazine within a magazine.

It was a delight to have 'SAM Revival' magazine mentioned in the special Your Sinclair issue 94 with Retro Gamer many years ago. Invasion II as pictured featured on the coverdisk with issue 10 of SAM Revival and is still available as a back issue.

This one was a coverdisk game, but don't let that fool you - this is a very good (and fast) take on Defender but in 3D. Frantic and a lot of fun to play.

Was that the ST mag which accidentally put a virus on a coverdisk at some point?

Det er en stund siden vi har hatt et coverdisk-dypdykk nå. Men her er en titt på CU Amiga-diskettene fra oktober 1992.

I didn't know Bip was based on an Atari 2600 game. I guessed that the format must have existed previously (that video even mentions this) but the AF coverdisk was the first time I'd seen it. Will have to check that out, thanks.

Either that or the Star Trek Encyclopaedia featured as a free magazine coverdisk at some point.

Might still have the disc even.

Debating whether to include this terrible/brilliant fan-made DIY techno track that one of the magazines (I'm assuming Amiga Power because it just feels like the sort of thing they'd have done) put on their coverdisk one month to the delight of a generation: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Izu...

Amiga Coverdisk & Magazines from Japan? 1/3
Japan was a tiny enclave for Amiga computers, but in 1993 it had a surge of popularity due to the Video Toaster+Lightwave effect. "Only Amiga" was a unique Japanese fanzine from this era that even sold with a coverdisk. #Amiga #アミーガ

their disks had been wiped and reused for other projects so it's most likely that any early code of it is tragically gone forever.

With Mungus's #SAMCoupe games now part of the Quazar portfolio I've already re-released their first game, Blokker, on the coverdisk with SAM Revival issue 26.

For me it was Amiga magazine coverdisk game demos, like Putty.

It was great to have my #SAMCoupe magazine "SAM Revival" mentioned in YS94, talking about the game 'Invasion II' by Warren Lee which featured on the coverdisk with SAM Revival issue 10.

It's still available -> www.samcoupe.com
(along with all other back issues, and issue 27 out soon!)
