I have decided to stay in my new Fran pj’s the whole long weekend. Prior to 2020, pj days were rare and cherished. The kids and I had no where we had to be - the whole day could be for leisure. I’m recapturing that ease this Labour Day weekend venturing out only onto my sunny balcony with a book.
I sewed up these pj’s in a medium. No alterations. When I'm not reading I'm sometimes sewing. I have two pairs of trousers I'm hemming for my father and then I have a pair of #Morganjeans by ClosetCorePatterns that I'm altering and sewing for Kid2
I'm also trying to make progress on my #kingdomofbooks cross stitch. It's slow going.

Back on my BS for #MarchThroughYourStash with my #ClosetCorePatterns Elodie Wrap Dress. I've made the bodice and the skirt, and today I'm working on the waist belt.

One size down in the free dog coat pattern from #closetcorepatterns fits Ripley a lot better with room to grow though I don’t think she was too sure about it. Now to add the Velcro! #sewing

You should learn to sew! I always have issues with pants- fit in the hips, giant in the waist. Or vice versa. Many independent pattern makers have very inclusive sizing. I have even made jeans. Look at #Closetcorepatterns for a start.

On the final stages now for my #ClosetCorePatterns Elodie wrap dress. I've let it hang to relax for a day, pinned the hem and now it's time to get stitching.

Hopefully it's not too wonky. Solo hemming you own stuff is tricky.

Update post-muslin: Cut out this #closetcorepatterns Elodie dress on Saturday*, wore it to get married on Tuesday.

*Okay I did sew a muslin last week.

Operation no more taping bits of paper together for my sewing projects has begun! Some more calibration is needed, but yes! my projector will work to project my pdf patterns onto my fabric. Pattern from #ClosetCorePatterns . Free web app PatternProjector.com (I will buy them a coffee!) #Sewing

Quick and dirty test version of the #closetcorepatterns dog coat for my 12 1/2 week old Lagotto puppy Ripley. Needless to say it’s too big right now but hopefully it will fit for the coming spring rain season. Beaver printed softshell because #canada

The waistband is on and so is the skirt! I'm excited. It's so swishy and floaty.

Still to do, I need to hand sew the waistband facing and hem the bottom of the skirts
