The Fair Pay Agreement is a long-overdue recognition that #SocialCare is skilled, essential work that deserves better pay & conditions.

The £500m commitment is a start but we need sustained workforce investment to:

✅improve conditions
✅tackle staff shortages
✅support longer-term reform

RIP #DavidLodge Apart from reading his clever books from a shared Catholic perspective, I corresponded with him over the closure of the #CARE ( Cottage And Rural Enterprise) villages, in one of which lived his son, and in another, my sister. #SocialCare gets everywhere, you see….

While social care does need more funding, it's not just about chucking money at councils. Sure, more funds are going to help, but the focus must equally be on improving the quality of care each person receives. #socialcare

Wes Streeting’s speech borrowed Kennedy’s words, promised reform, and pledged £500m for social care. Critics warn it falls short of fixing pay, retention, and NHS challenges. #NHS #SocialCare #LabourParty
Why
Wes Streeting’s Labour conference speech invoked Kennedy, tackled NHS reform, poverty and social care, but offered little substance for healthcare. A £500m social care pledge risks being symbolic rather than transformative.
