Ravens are so cute (I know they would take my eyes, given the chance, but still!). This last week, I saw raven couples making out on street lights in Whitehorse, Carmacks and Carcross.

Livinator spent the summer in Carcross. He loved it. Very different there.
The Caribou Hotel in Carcross, Yukon has a long history.
Built during the Klondike Gold Rush, it is said there are two ghosts who haunt the building.
One is Bessie a former owner, and the other is her beloved parrot Polly.
This is the story.

The story of Bessie and her ghost became famous enough that the hotel attracts visitors every year who want to catch a glimpse of her.
A stamp was also issued of her by Canada Post. As for the hotel, it is now a Yukon Historic Site.

Originally built in Bennett, BC n 1898 as the Yukon Hotel, it was located near Friedrich Trump's New Arctic Restaurant and Hotel.
In 1901, the hotel was floated down the river to Carcross. In 1903, it was sold for $9,000, renovated and renamed.

Another great day fishing, at Carcross. Warm (6C) and CALM. Got my grayling limit (4), in half an hour. Scenery is shifting colour to late fall/early winter, but still beautiful.
