Huron County has issued an Open Fire Ban effective since August 5, 2025.

So far in 2025, Canada has seen forests burn at a scale of 273 percent of the 10-year average. The number of fires so far this year is 100 percent of the 10-year average. Report from CWFIS July 9: cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/report
