An important advance understanding of how cells eliminate damaged proteins. Here, FBXO31 is identified as a ‘reader’ of C-terminal amide-bearing proteins (CTAPs), which are generated under oxidative stress. FBXO31 facilitates CTAP degradation and its mutation is linked to neurodevelopmental disease.

SCF–FBXO31 scans proteins for C-terminal amidation and marks them for subsequent proteasomal degradation.

Yes, FIDO2 is CTAP + WebAuthn. UAF is a very old protocol. But that could be much more clearly stated on their website.

Using a genome-wide CRISPR screen we identified the SCF-component FBXO31 as a selective reader of C-terminal amides. FBXO31 is a quality control factor, agnostically recognizing any amidated C-terminal amino acid. We propose that oxidative stress can cause spontaneous fragmentation of the peptide-backbone to leading to formation of C-terminally amidated proteins (CTAP).

Hast du schon gemacht? Du kannst für Passkeys auch externe Authenticators nutzen bspw. ein Hardware Token. Das regelt das CTAP Protokoll. Wenn dud as 1P Fenster bzw. 'other authenticator' App gehabt hättest wären andere AT Möglichkeiten aufgetaucht .....
