ah cool. yeah i hear decent things about cgrp blockers, but the MAB variants are so goddamn expensive i don't want to be taking one at this point, it just isn't worth the extreme cost when i'm not doing that bad without. neat to see there's a small-molecule one i guess those are still $1k a box 😮💨

Seriously impressive effects of a prolactin blocking antibody treatment in endometriosis pain: www.thelancet.com/journals/lan... Now let's see a CGRP antibody trial to see which is better (and I want to see the prolactin antibody in a migraine trial too). The pain field is moving fast!

Yes! I’ve exhausted multiple medication classes first and Botox is kind of a last resort before I think about medication I really don’t want to take at this time. I’m planning to ask about CGRP injectables in the future but I failed the oral ones.

I understand that what I'm about to say is a first world problem, but I'm about 5 seconds from crying uncontrollably... My insurance is changing which CGRP inhibitor they will cover. Not because of how well it works for anyone but because of the cost. This is not the first time they've done this

might have said this before, but if you haven’t tried CGRP agonists, they’re really a game changer and have totally saved my life. Still get migraines but nowhere like I did

Second time taking Nurtec.
It seems to have worked this time.
Tomorrow is my Aimovig injection.
Then 4 days of high-end migraine attacks then back to CGRP.
I'd rather have continued pain relief from my Anti-CGRP medication than waxing & waning. Hopefully, 2026 will bring me Vyepti authorization

First they said there were no studies of the two being used together (not true), then other requests for starting over with reporting what many meds I’ve tried. Then finally they just said they would not pay for CGRP meds unless I stopped Botox period

Maybe try citing the evidence that Botox+CGRPs work better together (and could save in the long run)?
I don't know if that's helpful. I hope someone who's actually appealed the Botox CGRP combo can weigh in.

Was cost the actual reason they gave in their denial? Because you can request an external review but I think only under certain circumstances. My doctor's office gave up appealing, so I had help from my state health advocate (like legal aid), not for Botox+CGRP, but another issue.

Any #MigraineChat insight into navigating insurance companies who won’t pay for both Botox for #Migraine and CGRP meds? Upon multiple appeals, there’s finally no reason given except cost. PS my premiums plus co-pays, etc are at $2,200/mo

I need help funding the anti-CGRP treatment that allows me to survive my chronic pain.
The treatment works but isn’t reimbursed by the French healthcare system.
Every bit of support, donation or share, is precious.
Thank you very much 💙

Zo ongelofelijk heel veel mensen gaan hierdoor straks wellicht pijnvrij leven. Wat een dag🤩🥳

Okay, I was trying to post on the way home and it was a mess! SO, two injections today of Galcanezumab ( CGRP blocker ) to start off, then I inject every 30 days from now on, and also a slow release Triptain during my monthly to help keep the migraine flares at bay while my hormones go mental!

triptans never worked for me. if you’re in contact with yr neurologist, see if you can get on a CGRP inhibitor like ubrevly or one of the injections
