yeah I'm adding stopgaps now but it truly sucks because it can pop up anywhere in an expression tree and it then breaks and the user is left questioning who's to blame. Whack-a-mole bugfixing, which plain sucks

Week 10 (1/1)

With the final edits of my cinematic (including a painful 1 hour long light reflection bugfixing session), I added the overworld background music + ambient sounds and finished my epic door. This project was pretty fun and I am satisfied with the end result.

Onto winter quarter. 🫡

np! If you're in bugfixing mood, the background in dropdown lists is also completely white in Chrome for some reason, making the white text in them unreadable outside of hover.

Still stressed, still bugfixing, still tweaking, still stuff on the todo list but still time so hopefully the game turns out ok!
Really hope people enjoy it, but regardless I've learned a ton and even if it's not 100% perfect I'm still really proud of what I've been able to make!

Well, there goes my FFXIV sub. I have done QA on an MMO myself (ESO), this is SO insulting to devs who do this and it'll make the actual BUGFIXING really messy. SE, I thought you were smarter than this.

With chats help we also noticed an issue with a player-run buff bot service that the creator fixed absurdly quickly since someone in chat had their contact info. The player-run services in this game have better support & bugfixing than most games nowadays.

Doing a bunch of bugfixing and tweaking on Witchy Tower.
I might also try to add a third mode that's just classic with smaller tower, for people that like their tower climbing more narrow.

Ja und Nein. Habe mal zwei Abende "Vibe-Coding" gespielt. Die erste Stunde war außergewöhnlich sauber und quasi sofort nutzbar. Aber dann kamen die Ausfälle, Codefragmente wurden nicht mehr beachtet, Variablen für die selbe Funktion mehrmals angelegt, am Ende fraß einzig das Bugfixing meine Zeit 1/2

Work has mostly been on bugfixing, polishing up scene errors, and fleshing out more of the story scenes.
I found that when I originally made the main story content, it was without the support of the surrounding landmark content, with fewer developed characters to interact with it

I tackled resolving a few bugs - such as the Necromancer's graves (from his active ability) not appearing where they should!

I also continued working on abilities - with the Meteor implementation.

it's so emblematic how my favorite genre of mario maker level and possibly the most popular on youtube is the one that has to be downloaded within seconds of uploading a copy or else nintendo will detect Illegal Setups They Don't Feel Like Bugfixing and remotely delete it from your console / ban you

Here's some footage with the env @suitntie22.bsky.social made. He was having issues implementing the PlayArea I made so I tried went into a heavy bugfixing phase. I fixed that collider bug and tried messing with enemy spawning. But in the end it just wasn't enough time and we had to cut a lot

to be fair it did take literally years of bugfixing and player-coordinated bug hunting and triage before it got to that point. at launch MCC was an absolute mess as far as all the games but especially CE

NEW MEAT UPDATE!

Imo a lot of games that get 'remastered' don't need it, they just need ports/patching. Maybe a little basic QoL and bugfixing that even contemporary ports or re-releases would get. But some games are just victims of circumstance, functionally unfinished, and those are real opportunities.
