The British Academy Mapping SHAPE project has found opportunities for students to study various Humanities subjects are diminishing in the regions, especially at HE institutions which make offers on lower exam grades thus attracting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

A reminder that the Cardiff University SMT has been accused of misrepresenting its financial position vis a vis available cash reserves, and its allegedly overly commercial approach.
The humanities are gutted in Cardiff. These cuts are brutal & will do irreparable harm to education in Wales and UK

The goal is to eliminate half or more of all Humanities academic posts across various schools and smush them together into one school

In another chapter of the #BonfireOfTheHumanities in the UK's university sector, Ancient Languages are threatened at Cardiff.

Archaeology, History and Classics departments have been among the victims, but one of the latest is the Music Department at Oxford Brooke's University.
