Yeah, the episodic format works so well. It’s dope how Apuleius uses such a frankly dumb plot setup as a way to show all the different levels of society at the time. Also…he did not have anything nice about people in the nascent Jesus cult.

I’m in the audience for asses.masses now (553 minutes in, between episode 8 and 9) and I’ll try to describe it: FFVI parody + Apuleius homage + workers’ revolution parable + mass puzzle game + rhythm-action sex simulator + improv-acted visual novel + watching a Rocky Horror Picture Show emerge live
Gonna go see and/or play asses.masses (assesmasses.work) by Milton Lim and Patrick Blenkarn this weekend and the theater was like "could you write something about games" and I was like "but I haven't even seen it yet" and they were like "that's ok just write" so here nyuskirball.org/article/naom...

What a brilliant opening night of THE GOLDEN ASS at
The Pumphouse! Based on the 2000 year old Roman novel by Apuleius, it's a satire that is highly relevant to today (the more things change … ) and incredible physical comedy.

The Latin novelist Apuleius describes a scene that seems familiar today. THE GOLDEN ASS is a satiric fantasy, describing the transformation of Lucius, a curious young man, into a beast of burden. Yet the tale’s magical elements exist alongside an almost journalistic sense of social conditions.

Meanwhile later this week I’ll be heading up to Leeds to film *another* course on Apuleius for the A Level Latin lot.

Yesterday's class was quiet, so I recounted this Simpsons moment. Alas, it did not goose our discussion of Apuleius book 10.

So Lucius Apuleius might legitimately be my past life incarnation because we have the same random and focused manners in our writing. As well as a morbid formal informality.

(Dazu hatte ich schon was verlinkt.)
Die Meerzwiebel hatte u. a.
