#AIIDE
I didn’t expect this year’s #aiide conference to hit me quite so hard but reconnecting to a community like this after so long is really emotional and uplifting. Phew.

For some concluding thoughts from your reporter, I think this workshop is an amazing space for sharing experimental and new ideas, and I hope it continues to exist just as robustly in the coming years!

I'll see you all for the first day of AIIDE tomorrow 🫡

I'm having such a lovely time at #aiide and it's such a well-run conference so far, in a great location. It made it feel all the more nice to talk about community, with a community that means so much to me. Here's to EXAG 2035!

Very interesting history of the #AIIDE EXAG workshop by Mike Cook who organized the first EXAG.

You are right with the whole toc but in their proceedings systems you can filter by topic and then it feels similar in scale to aiide. So yes, the entire catalogue would kill me and I also do not care about a lot of topics and still get interesting variety after the filter.

Had an interesting discussion with @sgware.bsky.social yesterday: what conference proceedings or journals do you find worth regularly browsing when they come out? Not necessarily read start to finish, but at least read the whole ToC and browse a subset of the papers? For both of us AIIDE is one!

Looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues in Edmonton this week for AIIDE! I'll be trying my hand at live tweeting the paper sessions at both the main conference and EXAG/INT, which I'll try to keep in this big reply thread (starting off tomorrow). @aiide.bsky.social @exag.bsky.social

I’m heading to AIIDE on Tuesday for the main conference on Wednesday. Not too worried about flying internationally from a major hub (international are less likely to be canceled).

But Edmonton->Rochester to give a talk at RIT looks fraught for disaster.

It's going to be great to see folks at AIIDE this week but Jesus fuck week 4 off this trip and I kinda just want to go straight home if I'm honest

4 week work trip is too long

I’m at AIIDE this week! For the first time in a decade I think? Wild. I’ve got three papers to talk about, and I’ll be taking photos of the city as well, and there’s all sorts happening. I’ll post more about the papers when I am not in an airport. #aiide25

Next on my plate is AIIDE 2025, which I’ve barely had time to process but I’m presenting three (very different) papers at! Lots more to share about that soon. After sleep. So much sleep.
