It is the position of the AASM that the United States should eliminate seasonal time changes in favor of permanent standard time.

Setting the clock back is a strange, and perhaps insidiously unhealthy, practice.

With the colder and darker months rolling in, many people will be spending more time in bed.   In one survey by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), one in three US adults reports sleeping more in winter. And a separate sleep study found participants tested in the winter slept an hour longer than those tested in the summer. But with more time spent in bed, a leading health expert is warning about the dangers that could be lurking between the sheets and in your bedroom.
