I've learned so much from my editor, Hanna, during this experience. I've learned it's okay to kill your darlings, and it's usually for the best. I've learned how to revise by looking at the MC's agency in every scene/chapter, atmosphere, character arcs, the universal message, and on and on. Here is my desk in the sunroom overlooking the pond. The truth is, it's still not done teaching me! ❤️The opportunity to work with an editor is of such an amazing experience. More on that on my post on Sunday!
Through #RevPit, I learned about the power of the writing community. I made so many friends from around the globe through this competition. We're all out here struggling through the query trenches and on a roller coaster of imposter syndrome lows and creativity highs. I've adored getting to hear about all of the incredible projects that touch every single genre (and subgenre) that I can imagine. I am beyond proud to be part of such an amazing cohort! No matter what happens, I feel so blessed that this experience gave me a supportive group of friends who understand the writing life

What I learned from #RevPit and @leahrambadt.bsky.social:

I learned a lot from Leah & her feedback. The main thing I learned was the balance between pacing vs stakes vs emotional payoff and how to make it land better for impact. She’s a wonderful editor. I’m in awe of her skill.
