Pope Leo XIV held a waterfront Mass in Beirut before departing, prayed at the blast site and urged an immediate end to attacks and armed struggle before about 150,000 people.

Antes de partir de regreso a Roma, en el aeropuerto de Beirut el Papa ha retomado la cuestión de la paz, que ha sido el hilo conductor de la visita, y ha hecho una mención a Israel y Hizbolá sin citarlos, pues ha solicitado « que cesen los ataques y las hostilidades » y que «ya nadie crea que la lucha armada conlleva algún beneficio». Sin ir mas lejos, hace una semana Tel Aviv lanzó un ataque aéreo contra un edificio de Beirut para asesinar al líder militar de Hizbolá. Israel invadió el Sur del Líbano en 2024 tras los atentados de Hamas de octubre de 2023. Aunque firmaron un alto el fuego hace un año con el que el Líbano se compromete a desarmar a Hizbolá, Israel ha continuado los ataques y mantiene bases en cinco localidades de la zona pues dice que no está cumpliendo su parte.
