It wasn't too long later that he started hurting himself. It was so bad and I couldn't do anything about it.

But then he WAS here the next day. Shaky and quieter than ever.

I asked him why he didn't go on his trip. He didn't answer, but somehow, little me figured it out.

Holy shit, I need to get my friend help.

Help came, but he didn't want it. He was actually mad at me.

I'll never forget this. One day, during recess, he came to me and told me that he wouldn't be here tomorrow.

"Oh like a trip?" Was my answer, I was pretty glad just to see him talking and happy again.

But 5ish years ago, he wasn't that guy. Sure he was bubbly and such, but it wasn't like now.

He quit soccer. He quit playing instruments. He quit drawing.

2 years after he quit it all, I witnessed him completely shut down.

He just quit.
