I can think of 2d6 games with consequences for overshooting on an attack (eg Apocalypse Keys, Navathem's End), but not a d20-style game with a hit zone!

Absolutely, that’s always true. It’s just much easier to be disrespectful with that game. For that reason, I like it more for a home table than streaming it. I had a similar feeling about Demigods, so in the miniseries we’re doing for that game, I had everyone create pantheons.

Also, Draw Steel is definitely on my radar and one that I’m looking forward to learning so I can run a high level combat.

To clarify, as well, that wasn’t a challenge because I think D&D is the best (it isn’t). That was an explicit question for research for a project.

Exalted absolutely does beautiful, cinematic high level combat better than DnD. The issue with Exalted is that you have to play in Creation. The game doesn’t lend itself to other realities. And Scion is very iffy in terms of being respectful of other cultures.
