I do think when you say 'getting married' people unpack a set of expectations in their heads. Especially with the whole marriage industry pressures. Any given couple should be allowed to do what suits them without judgement. But people are odd.

Exactly! Exactly my and Boo's thoughts on it. So many older people, family included, looked at us weird. Younger* people totally got it.
