What is the utopia of fear? As I understand it as a conviction that the political status quo can never can the final say about politics just like the apparent impossibility of finding alternatives to it can never be an excuse for looking for one.

I will not yield to popular opinion, nor be baited by the rabble's curse, though etymology be against me, still I refuse to concede: it is not a priori obvious that Bob the Builder can fix it, his name alone does not settle the matter, and the thoughtless mob's enthusiastic assent will not sway me.
