Seeing universities attack the arts & humanities is hardly a news story in the 21st century, but seeing it happen at the U of Chicago is beyond shocking. But even more shocking is the fact that they are 6 billion in debt. WTF????

@chronicle.com article on how Turning Point USA terrorized professors.

I wish that this article could be more publicly available, and not just available to other colleagues in higher ed.

Ashamed to have @oregonstate.edu listed on the @chronicle.com DEI tracker as the only institution in our state, outside of the religiously conservative Corban University, as having made DEI changes

@chronicle.com has tracked changes at 350 colleges and universities in the United States that have made changes in efforts for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Oregon only lists one change, at Corban University. Way to go, Oregon.

Pretty depressing read from the @chronicle.com on the life of a non-tenure track faculty member at the University of Colorado. With the House settlement, these effects are going to get worse on academics, not better.

Taxes, at least in blue states, are going to have to be increased, and probably significantly, if they are going to paying for increased medical and SNAP costs. All of this so that the rich can get a pay cut.

When folks say it's exhausting to teach in higher ed, this is one of the many things they are talking about. #HigherEd

Wondering if any colleagues know Scott Yenor from Boise State. This quote by him really makes him appear to be openly racist.

Today has been discouraging, but if you want to experience some hope, read Noor Unnahar's poem, "Phoenix." The path to our solution is going to require some of this.

This interview in the @chronicle.com of Lee Bollinger, former president of Michigan and Columbia is really worth a read.

This quote happens early and hits hard. I think this is 100 percent true.
