Okay, not everything's analog. Here's a procreate timelapse of me messing around with the cover sketch.

or my cover I made an acrylic painting--it is very unfinished, and I may come back to it. But with the the time constraints of the jam, I messed around in photoshop and got it lookin' good.

Figuring out how to screen print!
I've printed a lot before (2.5 years of day job), but never burned screens all by myself before!
First project was these post cards. I made a little cardboard template to do the stamp-and-address guides on the back.

In a new-ish bookshop on Northside (ILYSM Books), I scored a book of New Yorker cartoons and illustrations from their first 25 years--1925 to 1950. Some of the humor escapes me, but all of the drawings are incredible.
This one by O.Soglow still rings true.

Scans of the final inks for the spot illustrations. I re-did a couple of them because I was satisfied with the first attempt.

Thanks for looking! Hire me to help with your project, I want to do more work like this.

Some thumbnail sketches/ideas for the interior spot illustrations, based on the games six factions! Here you can see my favorite sketches, along with the development of the Bandits and Slimes.

Final(ish) sketch, and ink/watercolors. I often use ink, graphite and water color to make textures which I can and layer with photoshop. I love mixing traditional and digital media, collaging stuff together.

I'm itching to try the game, either solo or with some friends, but I've been so busy this week 😵‍💫.

Rough sketches!
My normal illustration process:
1. Communicating with client
2. Brainstorming
3. Thumbnails
4. Rough sketches
5. Final sketches
6. Final illustration!

Tonight, the first session of the Fantastic Cartography class I’m teaching!
I made these four folding panels as examples of stages in the process of making a map by hand.

1. Brainstorm & thumbnail
2. Sketch
3. Transfer/refine sketch/ink
4. Shade, color, embellish

For oracles and spark tables, I've been using Solo Dark, Knave 2e and this cool new thing WORLDWIZARD.
I also made my own 52 card spark tables for room generation, but you need a lot of sparks for this kinda thing.

Cool! Hopefully I'll make more headway and have more to share soon.

Some games inspiring me:
DELVE by @annablackwell.bsky.social . Coolest suite of solo games I've tried. SO much to track though, this game asks a lot of the player! It almost feels more like you're playing a strategy game.

DARK FORT is cool, sleek and impressive, but I'm not sure it's actually fun.

For tracking resources, I've been designing a pocket mod character booklet, very inspired by @n8hps.bsky.social 's NOSR zine, Sledgehammer and others. I use a paperclip or bookmark tab to track things like torches or days.
So far the rules are basically Cairn, but...
