Some 'mechs painted by a friend of mine, all the numbering, the symbols etc are freehand and he don't use washes, but instead its all layering.

drybrush all over, then a lighter grey, drybrush, repeat with a light almost white grey and finally a white.

I usually do mine red, blue or green, what I do as a quick and easy is paint it a bright metallic silver, followed by GW Soulstone blue, Spiritstone red or Waystone green.
Its very much 'ez mode' and isn't great if you want to go for detail etc but it suffices for the table. Example below :)

McKenna class Battleships, the SLN's biggest stick in #Battletech drawn by Shimmering Sword and Matt Plog. The 3rd one is also a McKenna but its the redone 3058 one.
This was done because there was 6 command McKenna's that were built, only one survived the McKenna's Pride, so this is her.

I've been collecting for ages and I don't have any specific faction, i've got a large number of Falcons, but a mix of IS and other clans and its purely because I like different paint schemes.

I in no way have a tank problem, just because i've got 105 of them does not mean anything (or that with the new CGL vehicles I've ordered enough to make a lance of each type...)
