Over four weeks, we established the visual foundation – from character silhouettes showing the Strain's influence, to sacred architecture built from divine remains, to weapons designed for fighting both mortal and supernatural threats.

The challenge: showing a world where gods are grotesque, monstrous entities whose remains become construction materials. Where humans survive using bronze, bone, leather, and godflesh. Where the line between natural and supernatural is constantly blurred.

Learning a new engine is hard, but I love that learning to do _anything_ basic in #GodotEngine is so straightforward and intuitive - if still a little buggy XD

3. Heavy influence from Tyranny's Bronze Age aesthetic and divine authority, plus Pillars of Eternity's painted environments and soul transformation. These games perfectly capture the tone we're pursuing. @obsidian.net

2. Bronze Age civilisations through a contemporary lens – this is crucial. Not historical recreation, but Mycenaean palaces, Babylonian metalwork, and Egyptian monumentalism reimagined for modern fantasy. Ancient grandeur that feels fresh and engaging.

5. The expo reminded me why tabletop gaming events matter. From trying new mechanics to meeting passionate creators, every conversation planted seeds for new ideas. If you've never been to a game expo, you're missing out on the heart of this community. ^icel

4. Still working through all the business cards I collected and my head is full of ideas. Game conventions have this way of filling you with creative energy that lasts weeks. Already thinking about what we'll bring to the next one.

2. Shoutout to @yushuv.bsky.social for printing copies of our #GodfleshRPG playtest booklet and promo postcards for the expo! We spent the weekend pitching our game to artists and creators at their booths. Nothing beats sharing your work face-to-face with fellow game makers.

1. Been reflecting on #UKGE a couple of weeks later and I'm still feeling energised from it. There's something special about wandering the halls, meeting creators, and trying new games. The conversations you have at these events stick with you long after you get home.
