Artist and illustrator friends: a friend's daughter is in her final year of a Fine Art degree at Loughborough and needs to find a work placement for 6-10 months, preferably drawing/painting related, preferably paid. Could be any location. Any thoughts or ideas gratefully received.

The Government this week sneaked out an announcement increasing the amount that political parties can spend on general elections by around 80%. This major change in election rules cannot be challenged by opposition parties. It is the governing party setting the rules to benefit themselves.

As always from @iandunt.bsky.social, this is SO good on our current government, which is behaving like a toddler howling when told it's time to go home.

Does anyone (teachers on here?) have a handy list of manga that are suitable for upper KS2 (specifically for a 10 year old but a bit younger fine too). It's for a girl who loves anime but hasn't read any manga yet. My manga knowledge is in its infancy so any help would be great!

Book 95: Rebecca Wragg Sykes, “Kindred: Neanderthal Life, Love, Death, and Art.” Really well done in terms of showcasing the humanity of these hominids. Also does a good job going into detail about HOW we know what we know and how that understanding has changed over the least 50 years.
Book 94: Adrian Tchaikovsky’s “Bear Head.” Such a great sequel/conclusion! It got more complex in ways I really wasn’t anticipating. Really excellent. Also, I don’t understand how Tchaikovsky is so prolific. So many books! BookSky.
Book 93: Adrian Tchaikovsky’s “Dogs of War.” I really love how, in all of his books, he didn’t make any of his super intelligent animals or spiders act like people. He seems to think really deeply about what a super intelligent DOG would be like. BookSky.
