Created in October 2012, this piece was part of my Who Said What series. The quote has travelled the world, resonating with people who find beauty and hope in imperfection — a theme that runs deep in Cohen’s music and poetry.

This artwork features one of his most beloved lines from Anthem:
“Ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything—
That’s how the light gets in.”

She originally wrote this quote in her autobiography The Raw Pear (1968), reflecting on a remarkable life of resilience and artistry.
