Thank you for taking an interest in Manuel. The response at Global Affairs is very disconcerting and worrisome. I have no confidence in my government providing the necessary support should a crisis arise abroad.

2. I contacted my MP and spoke with her assistant who took down the info but never got back to me. I spoke to Global Affairs twice but they refused to help in any way saying that it is a private matter, and to call back should she be arrested. In the end, all worked out well for her.

1. I tried to contact the Canadian Embassy in Egypt and Global Affair Emergency line in Ottawa on behalf of my daughter who's a delegate for the GlobalMarchforGaza. She's among 1000 who was taken off the bus at a checkpoint point, passports were taken. I also emailed Anita Nanand but no response.

Manuel Tapial’s whereabouts are currently unknown. It’s been almost 24 hours since he’s been detained. His wife Baya was deported and put on a plane and is now already outside of the country.

My daughter is one of the delegates. I have contacted the Canadian emergency number who are taking a wait and see approach.
