No, no hay forma 100% fiable de saber el uso de distros.
Lo de Arch si que sorprende, pero hay mas señales que apuntan a que está muy fuerte.

There isn't a census of Linux distro users, but nothing indicates that Debian derivatives are the most used.
Maybe around 2010 when Ubuntu was still big?
It certainly was not the case in 2001 when LSB was proposed.
Anyway, Red Hats influence might have to do with the amount of code they liberate.
