The first of what will sadly be many, concerned parent spoke to me. Those who know me know the type of program I work for and the people that we serve. I had to put on a brave face, a confident smile and a sure voice even as my heart pounds in fear as I tell this parent that we will whatever we can.

Well Luna's first rain. At first she was excited by it, but she soon realized that if the outside is wet, so is she and is now no longer a fan.

At a family gathering and...it's different. In the past, there would have gossip and re-telling of stories from long ago. Now, no more than 30 min pass without hearing some sort of concern about ICE. So, if anyone thinks I'm overreacting, I will probably punch them.

Last year at the So Cal Renfair, my partner and I started walking around with a sign that said "duck exchange," and we trade whatever people had for fantasy themes rubber ducks. It was a blast seeing all the smiles. I'm prepping again for this year! Can't wait!
