Husband, father. Nuclear energy professional 🇨🇦; project manager / regulatory. Nerds out on nature and bad (read: good) martial arts movies. I like moss and I pick up rocks and bring them home. All photos mine unless I note otherwise.
Female cardinal this morning on our deck railing.

Very similar in Markham this morning, with that vertical rainbow-esque light. Does anytime know if there’s a term for that?

My first #forestfriday post. 😀 Spruce and jackpine boreal forest off a logging road north of the rail/lumber town of Chapleau, Ontario Canada. With a large beaver dam. Taken last month.

The sight and sounds of a pristine marsh & pond in the boreal region of Ontario, when to the left of an old grown-in logging road this scene presented itself. For reference this is about 700 km NW of the Toronto area. #biodiversity #conservation #nativeplants

If you take photos of moss you may be my people. A log completely blanketed by sphagnum moss, in the boreal forest of northern Ontario today.

Only rarely get #bluejays at our feeder in the Greater Toronto Area but this surly boss showed up this morning. Not saying it’s a sign but… ⚾️

I always wonder about this spot just off-trail in Oakridges Moraine north of Toronto. There are farm fields 75 m to right of this replanted red pine woodlot. Did these 3 maples start in the middle of the farm field 150 years ago? And then get surrounded by the planted red pine much later? Questions.

Received on my phone. I feel the hackers started off strong on this one, but then veered horribly off course

Everything this rudbeckia has been striving for since the snow melted is now achieved. So, is the beauty in the spring flower or in the withering dry seed head? 🤔
