I currently have a job with a 20 minute lunch break and it takes 3 minutes just to walk to the cafeteria. Had numerous coworkers talk about running there and back and choking on food. All that just to not get paid a living wage.

I feel no empathy towards people's reliance on it anymore. It's a sad way of giving up. I think I'm surprised of the lack of shame or the need to question what space it's taking up that would normally be used by thinking about something.
