Anybody want a highly realistic, life size human skull made from a 3d scan of a 14th century archaeological site in Visby, Sweden? I make and sell these. DM for details.
Tonight I'm reading Alexander von Humbolt's Cosmos while listening to the Tangerine Tree, Volume 48: Melbourne 1982 (it's mostly White Eagle, which I hadn't listened to in way too long).

There are two kinds of writers.

*Writers whose self-insert characters are protected

*Writers whose self-insert characters are punished

Quentin Tarantino taught me that sometimes your personal canon of media obsessions has a greater cultural resonance you can leverage to make interesting new stories from remixed ideas and aesthetics but sometimes you're just on cocaine.

I've purchased a new bicycle to replace my previous ebike which just didn't quite have the oomph for the hills where I live. (Much like ME!)

The new one absolutely will and it's very sexy. However, I have to wait. The bike shop needs to have it and then assemble it.

I may die from waiting 2 days.

You can't help the family you're born into, but some histories will require VOCIFEROUS and CONSTANT condemnation on your part before I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
I guess I'm a Silver Star Hater as the vibes of his sycophants always threw me but I didn't enter full haterdom until the Thai cave fallout...

Before we get around to primarying a bunch of Democrats -- and I really think that needs to happen -- we need better safeguards against getting another Fetterman or Synema.

I would greatly appreciate if there were fewer things going on right now.

My brain is a machine for turning near and far-future events into anxiety.

I want a lot less of that shit.

Definitely a night to snap a random branch off the Tangerine Tree (Tonight is Volume 11. Hamburg, 1978) and consider how to approach the last chapter in my novel.

Another very pleasant mushroom hike. Found many mushrooms. Still no Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis.

I figure I can give the last chapter of my novel a title as obscure as I want.

Some folks are super into Rome. I know.

Sorry, but those Johnny-come-latelies are just a flash in the pan.

It's gotta be Sumer for me. All the way.

What are the odds that the administration has spent all the SNAP funds to buy gun cozies for their freshly hired neonazis and that’s why they’re so desperate to get out of paying what is owed?

Many mushrooms on my hike today! None of what I was looking for though.

Reposting this as it's a piece of @guydavisart.bsky.social art that most folks have likely never seen. From my weird western OGN Strangeways: Murder Moon, all the way back in 2008 (probably drawn in 2005 though.)

At the risk of hubris, tagging @realgdt.bsky.social as he's a fan of Guy's work.

Worth noting that Elon Musk is not a trillionaire, he *could become* a trillionaire if he carries out a number of impossible tasks within a timescale that is barely feasible. It's branding. He slipped from being #1 to #2 richest man in the world and he can't live with himself. This is his lollipop.

The last scene in this chapter was supposed to be one I could knock out in 15 minutes.

Why did I set it in London, then? In the world of my novel it's 1945 and there has been no WWII.

Not to mention all the other weird shit that's happened since 1820.

Read over the monster scene I was working on yesterday and the day before and I think I'm gonna pull off the ending of this damned book.

It's been about three years since I first imagined the end, and it's changed considerably. Twice.

Feels real nice to have confidence in where I've gone with it.

I am just going to imagine the Novo Nordisk guy bit into his poison tooth right there and Baron RFK Jr. is fleeing for his life.
holy shit -- one of Trump's toadies just passed out and the White House event is brought to an abrupt end
