actually, looking at my shelf and theres a third, forgotten category; statues, which only really exist to be looked at

note that i own a doll and not a puppet, there may be gaps in my impressions due to sheer ignorance

but nevertheless it can exist, holding its pose for a while without its owner (even if its movement is more restricted). a puppet can move much more freely, but only with its owner, and is utterly limp without them.

yeah, they both possess the same quantity of malleability but expressed im different ways. for a doll, thats the posing, clothing, hair styling that suits the owner's tastes and their impression of the doll (and im not sure if ive seen such qualities in a puppet),
