My only opposition to this thought is that some people *do* have fun playing that way, which is why saying, "I play to have fun," is a flawed statement. Playing casually is valid! Fun is subjective.
I say this as someone who plays cozy games "wrong" with spreadsheets and notes. Live and let live.

I did this. HS sweethearts, married at 20, kid at 23. While I don't regret kiddo at all, I definitely had her for the wrong reasons, and I dropped out of school because of it. Life happens, and while I wouldn't change it now, I do think it hurt me a lot. I think about it often.

I've been seeing a lot of grumbling in the Animal Crossing community about the impending update. A lot of "ACNH isn't AC" takes. So this post on Reddit (not mine) really hit the nail on the head with my own thoughts, so I had to share rather than rant.
From the AnimalCrossing community on Reddit: New Horizons is more alike Animal Crossing than people care to admit. NL has always been the odd one of the group.
