one of the defining features of the techbro dipshits now running the USA is their absolute refusal to consider that anyone, ever, has thought about problems before them

time after time they come in, propose a solution that was rejected years ago because it's stupid, and call themselves geniuses
Ah, yes, I’m sure no prior administration thought to ask how all the payments are made.

We are learning the answer to “what if we run the government by a business,” which is predictably “most businesses are actually run terribly.”

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.

The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.

Happy Black History Month.

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks:

"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

So if I’m understanding today correctly, the world’s richest person Elon Musk, whom no one elected, is taking over federal payment systems and employee data while the federal employees who investigate and prosecute public corruption are being fired en masse.

maybe there was actually a pretty good reason for the 14th amendment to have banned insurrectionists who tried to overthrow the government from serving in government and the decision to just decide it was a dead letter and ignore it was a horrible mistake?

What a nightmare. The crashed plane is reported to be an air ambulance—and multiple homes and cars are said to be on fire on the ground. (This is in NE Philly, near the Roosevelt Mall.)

Jeffries is COMPLETELY wrong. “We can’t chase every outrage” is just the latest in the endless stream of pathetic Dem excuses for not reacting to Trump. Chasing every outrage fills the airwaves and floods the zone, just like creating outrages does. Dem instincts couldn’t be worse here.
I generally agree with this, but I would just say that you need to swing at a few more pitches than you have been and you need to swing sooner. Taking pitches until the count is 0-2, and then swinging late at a slider in the dirt isn’t going to get it done.

Liberals claim that DEI played no factor in the crash at Reagan National Airport. Then how come the Army aircraft was a Black Hawk helicopter and not a White Hawk helicopter?

The “patriotic education” shit is another example of how there’s no real “national conservatism”, just a grab bag of cultural grievances from PMC conservatives mad they had to exist in lib spaces.

Definitely becoming a believer in that good times weak men shit tbh. These people think shit just appears in front of them by magic. Clean water comes out of your tap, ratshit absent from your cereal, and your Amazon package at your porch all by magic. Do whatever you want and it will keep coming

yes. they couch it as restoring the constitutional order, but the plain fact is they want to bring back a legal regime that sanctioned apartheid
The medium-term goal here, which most of these people openly admit if you ask them, is the repeal of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which restores their ability to segregate by race, bar black people from businesses, and racially discriminate.

Like no one really wants to deal with the massive outrage-and-hallucination engine that we’ve hooked our society up to, so it would be really nice to assume Dems can defang it with smart policy positioning or rhetorical positioning or whatever, and win elections anyway. But they just can’t!
