The good thing if the committee leaves Bama out because of how it played in an SEC championship game is that will be the death of championship games as we know them, which is prob already overdue in an expanded playoff era.

The Nationals should be taking fliers on guys like this. Especially for a reliever.
The Mariners add value in another area for a player who was obviously blocked.
Harry Ford gets an opportunity to prove himself in the bigs.

You will read a lot of "Harry Ford top catcher prospect" today.
Nothing against Ford but he is not currently one of the top 10 catching prospects in the game.
He is catcher with solid OBP skills and concerns about his power and defense.

I have never felt other teams value Harry Ford as much as Seattle or evaluation/projection services do. He has been available for awhile.
Did Seattle overspend? Yep. I think it’s a good trade for M’s. I think JF, bc of Seattles pitching philosophy, park, influence of the Dumper will do fine here.

Folks, the motion picture Eephus is out on streaming and on disk. I saw it at the beginning of the year and it is absolutely everything I love about baseball. Recommended especially for fans of the Cleveland Guardians, the Milwaukee Brewers, the San Diego Padres, and the Seattle Mariners.
