Lifelong Angels fan and recent Chicago Bears Fan.

Wishing for better days in anaheim and Chicago but loyal to both.

Big movie/tv guy!
I try to not complain because the Angels have been the poster child of how to not run a professional sports franchise.

But for the first time in a while the minors have some genuine exciting prospects.

Klassen and Aldegheri were ranked in the top 100-200 prospects from other outlets.

MLB Pipeline just ranked the Angels 30th in minors rankings. I simply do not agree with this and feel this is a very biased ranking.

You are telling me that months ago a news outlet said we have the 4th best system for RHP in the game but were still the worst overall?

And Cam Smith makes Houstons

It was definitely a blessing… Tera’s annual contract price can pay for probably a few players… Angels have too many holes to spend that much on one player

Anthony Rendon is likely out the entire 2025 season due to him having hip surgery.

Being as non biased as possible, but his contract is one of if not the worst in MLB history.

Dude has yet to play over 50 games since 2020 and when he does he is below average. While getting paid 35 mil a year

The Angels have signed closer Kenley Jansen to a one year deal for 10 million dollars.

This is a decent move as the 37 year old has been a very consistent and reliable closer for some very good teams.

And gives Ben Joyce more time to ease into the role.

Nonetheless I wish drury the best in Chicago and hope he can return to form and be the impactful player he was 2 years ago!

Other news, former Angel Brandon Drury signed a one year minor league contract with the white Sox.

I think last season he was clearly injured and it severely affected his performance.

Between 2022-2023 he was amongst the most productive hitters in the league and last season was the opposite

The Angels signed Yoan Moncada for 5 Million on a one year contract.

Initial thoughts, like the signing a lot. Moncada at one point in time was a top 5 prospect in the game. In addition, when healthy is very talented and can play all over the infield.

Seems like a replacement for Rendon!

This may be a hot take, but super teams are very bad for the sport.

I know our team is one of the worst ran franchises in baseball.

But what baseball has become especially in free agency is so bad for the competitive balance of the sport.

Been a little inactive on this account due to the lack of moves from the Angels.

At this point I’m not sure if they will make another move. I hear that we are linked to Alonso and Santander, but we’ve seen writers use the Angels as leverage.

Former Angel and top Prospect Griffin Canning signed a 1 year deal with the Mets.

I’m not surprised the Angels did not try to bring him back, as mentioned before. Perry seems sorta done with these Eppler Era players that continue to not improve.

And imo I’m glad we did not bring him back.

All in all, i just want the Angels to pick a direction.

Either try and compete and go out and be willing to spend on premier talent to actually make this team better.

Or commit to a rebuild, and play the young guys coming from the farm .

This meddling in between is maddening and tired now.
December 16, 2024 at 8:00 PM
The lack of moves now is a little concerning. Especially when Moreno has clearly stated that he expects this team to compete.

In my honest opinion, he should let Perry continue this quiet rebuild because they are a little far from being competitive.

But a few things that Perry has been clear:

The Angels have the second pick of the draft, what a blessing.

This team has needed some much needed good news, and this instantly secures a top 50 prospect.

The Angels will either draft Ethan Holliday or Jace LaViolette.

Very exciting for the club!

Juan Soto signing for 15 years for 765 million is absurd, but for one thing I appreciate with this deal is there is ZERO deferrals.

If teams want to take the risk of signing a huge contract, Steve cohen just proved how it should be done.

Not sending off paying the big bucks to the next decade!

Angels have already been listed as a team that has shown to be tied to Kim,

Don’t know much about him, but the past three seasons in the KBO he was a very good middle infielder with consistently good stats

Would be a good fit with the Angels, and eliminate the team looking for external 3B options
Some details on Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim, who was posted for MLB teams today:

Soon-to-be 26 year old who's mostly played second base and shortstop, though he's dabbled at third and left field.

Career .304/364/.403 hitter in the KBO

2024: .326 with 11 HR, 30 SB, .841 OPS

Kevin pillar was a great leader for our young dudes.

However, since we have soler now, I would hope they don’t toy the idea to bring Pillar back.

Moniak and Adell should be seeing the playing time, not players that are on their way out.
December 3, 2024 at 8:21 PM
If the angels can sign one more dude, this may be a risk. But take a flier chance on Gleyber Torres and sign for a one year deal with a club option.

This is hypothetical, but he has power that has been dormant, BUT he can play 3b and would fit perfectly into the lineup.

The angels can never go wrong with getting quality arms. Kikuchi essentially replaced Sandoval.

Even though he is older and more expensive, he is indeed an upgrade.

He completely figured it out with houston, and credit to that organization that does this often.

Hopefully it carries to us.
November 25, 2024 at 6:05 PM
The Angels sign SP Yusei Kikuchi for 3 years/ 63 million.

I think this is a good signing, as predicted any decent SP baseline was about 20 million and Kikuchi will average 21 million the next three seasons.

Last season, he had the best season of his career, especially when he went to houston!
November 25, 2024 at 3:22 PM
Patrick Sandoval was non tendered by the Angels. I am a little surprised by this but understand the decision.

Sandoval was set to make 6 million this upcoming season while recovering from TJ.

The thing with Sandy and Canning applies as well. Lots of potential but could never go deep into games.

Matt thaiss was traded to the Chicago cubs for cash. He is the Angels former 2016 first round pick.

Was a solid backup but never put it together in the bigs.

More importantly this is the second first round pick from the Angels that was let go or traded.

Both Billy Eppler picks.

Congratulations to Chris Sale and Tarik Skubal, both had extremely dominant years!

Very well deserved!
November 21, 2024 at 12:29 AM
Jordyn Adams was DFA’d by the Angels. A little surprised, but he has struggled almost his entire minor league career.

Adams is one of the most athletic players I’ve seen and it sucks it did not work out with us.

I hope whatever team signs him or if he chooses football he succeeds!
November 20, 2024 at 2:24 AM
Sugano is 35 years old, he has been consistently a front of the line start for the NPB.

But his strikeout rates have dropped, still though would be a great signing for the Angels who are desperate for quality arms.

If it is the right price!
