If you think about it @netflix.com ceo Ted Sarandos just expertly froze all competition in place for two years, even if the company does not get past regulators, unions, Trump’s rapidly decaying body etc. The Ellisons are playing checkers and he is playing chess.

Surreal stuff.
lol the ACIP committee let Aaron Siri speak for some 90 minutes and cut off CDC experts and scientists off after two minutes (sometime yelling at them to shut them up). Incredible stuff.
The country's biggest anti-vaccine lawyer, the guy behind weakened school mandates in Mississippi and West Virginia, who pulls in millions a year harassing the CDC on behalf of Del Bigtree's anti-vaxx org is ... presenting at ACIP. This panel is anti-vaccine theater. It's a cruel joke.

Also covid was really miserable to have. Did these people really add voluntarily pooing/“deworming” themselves on top of it?
Let's tell people to take horse dewormer instead of vaccines during a worldwide pandemic killing millions -- like how did you even think of that?

Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

Who even am I?!

The end of academic freedom, Flowchart Edition.
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

Fight for my career, livelihood, integrity, or just give every A’s and collect my paycheck. Tough choice.
Sooo here's a little public records request I just made to the University of Oklahoma.

It’s useful to think about things like this in numbers of tenure track professors.

$33M is 358 assistant professors. Or about fourteen percent of the total number of full-time faculty at Michigan State.
SOURCES: Michigan State is firing head coach Jonathan Smith, @theathletic.com has learned.

He went 9-15 in two seasons, including 1-8 in the Big Ten this year. (ESPN first reported).

MSU players meeting called for 2:45. Smith has a $33 million buyout (with offset).

Today is really windy in Detroit. Carts were going rogue in the parking lot. I felt like a really good human doing my part to collect the carts at Kroger this evening…

Until the lady next to me ditched her cart between our cars and then flipped me off when I got out & put it away.

Fuck people.
