Phillipe - I don't know how much you follow the NFL but when the Eagles won their Super Bowl against the Patriots in 2018 there was a large discussion on that as a cultural thing in their locker room too.

Perhaps what came before - part VII - was in itself an abomination - not original just a rehash and that's why Last Jedi is viewed differently. I actually like Last Jedi because the inner turmoil and rejection by Luke is something you could definitely see.
