What is so great about #Abundance by @ezraklein.bsky.social and @dkthomp.bsky.social is that it expands the American left. If you’re a young adult and find living in NYC/Paris/Amsterdam appealing then you want Abundance Liberalism. Dense mixed-use housing, no parking mins, public transit.

America should also strive to transition its entire healthcare sector towards operating on fully independent power systems. An “islandable” and electric healthcare sector is strong national security policy.

The best way to increase metro ridership is to increase the frequency of trains and simply build more rail. If you build it, they will come. Operation Warp Speed it.

They should become community third places.
The Post Office is a lifeline and essential service for rural and Tribal communities, and small businesses everywhere. It should be strengthened, invested in, modernized, and expanded to provide banking, resilience, and community services.

After actually reading this article, I am convinced that Requests-For-Proposals (RFPs) are what preventing a local government to work at “Abundance” levels. Who can give me a quick lesson about why the exist and make the argument about why we should have them.
