Using mostly sea anemones and other cnidarians as my experimental model organisms. University Professor at HUJI and academic editor for EMBO Press. Opinions are my own.
Very happy and honored for being invited to give a keynote lecture at the 5th ISFSI conference in beautiful Tainan (and no, sea anemones are not fish or shellfish, but they are certainly marine invertebrates and have a fascinating immune system).

2/3 stinging cells, aka cnidocytes, are the cells that define Cnidaria. Their organelles are the ones injecting venom when you are stung by a 🪼 or 🪸. Itamar's work highlights their molecular complexity and how they can be divided epigenetically into distinct populations. >>>

There’s a reason no one remembers philosophers from Sparta: they had none. Athens valued ideas, Sparta only force.

A 21st-century leader dreaming of a “super-Sparta” isn’t being visionary, he’s showing deeply flawed judgement.

Oh, my country, what a train wreck you’ve become.

Happy Darwin day, everyone! Charles is 216 years old today. He is not here anymore, but his theory is still alive and well!

3/3 Juror #2: Eastwood is in decline. OK (or even a bit sloppy) script, Nicholas Hoult is disappointing. Supporting cast is good. 3⭐️
Flora and Son: a bit small but feel-good Irish story. Really funny but also touching. Eve Hewson gives an amazing performance as Flora. 4⭐️

2/3
KoftheFM is Scorsese at his best. 160 minutes go fast
Conclave: Ralph Fiennes acts crazy well (as usual). Script is good but not amazing. 4⭐️
Goodrich: Michael Keaton is likeable as always. Scripts is shaky at best. Mila Kunis gets a ridiculously small supporting part. 3⭐️

1/3 🎬 film review: I am very bad in working and sleeping on 🛩. So flying to Colorado and back on multiple Delta/Air France flights enabled me to fill quite some gap in recent movies (I love cinema but have no time). My impressions:
Killers of the Flower Moon: Breathtaking and heartbreaking. 5⭐️

Transferring flights at Paris CDG as part of my long journey to @keystonesymposia.bsky.social on Non-coding #RNA. I'm very excited to attend this cool event for the first time! (and also visiting beautiful Colorado would be a 1st for me. Ummm, but temperatures look a bit scary! 🥶).
