Note to any legit book clubs out there trying to connect to authors: Don't use AI to write your e-mails, don't summarize a book's blurb back at the author, don't have numbers in your name, and send from a personalized web address (not gmail). The amount of AI gmail spam I get is off the charts.

I hate to DNF a book. Especially one with acclaim and being made into a Netflix movie. I mean, it has to get better right? But I'm 1/2 way thru and it's a dredge. My hours are precious. I feel weirdly guilty about it (FOMO), but it has to be done. (I'll never name it publicly tho)
