My daughter took the first one. And in the second one, it’s her favourite box, with its decorative scalloped edge she’s worked so much on.

I got home two days ago. It all feels a bit surreal. Sometimes I’m driving and thinking about something odd or amusing or annoying about my day and for a split second I forget she’s gone and the thought, “I can’t wait to tell her that,” pops into my mind and then I remember.

Thank you for that. It’s so kind of you. Funeral was yesterday. There was a full on blizzard by the afternoon so only a few of us followed to the cemetery. It’s hard to think of the rest of my life ahead without her.

My friend passed away on March 1. I’m off to Canada again shortly. I came across this poem in the month after I came back in January and it just stayed with me. It’s written by Paul Durcan. reader.exacteditions.com/issues/89260...

He died in front of me; no one else was in the room. My eyes teemed with tears; I could not damp them down. I was mucking about with duolingo and taking a break from Korean because yeah grammar lol and just had to laugh at this exercise today. Pretty sure this is the first character I ever recognised before doing two units of Chinese.

Turtle buns. Just a much needed day off from *waves hands* hospicing and the chance to hang out with a friend I first met in first year uni (yes that long ago).
