All the leaves on our ginkgo tree have fallen, carpeting our driveway in sunshine. Also, it took me ages before I could consistently type "ginkgo" correctly, so I am happy to have an excuse to use it today.

Folks should look up punk rock history. Inspired out of economic conditions in the UK.
People who think Britain was better 50 years ago either have no adult memories of Britain 50 years ago or are confabulating a fantasy version of their teens and twenties. Yes, we all wish we were younger.
Absolute nonsense. Anyone who lived through the period, or who has studied the period, will know how daft, how dangerously silly, this kind of rot is. If I may, I was there. It was FAR more grey, tough, poor, bigoted, boring, terrifying, violent & frequently flat-out insane than nostalgia insists.

Some good news today! 🐊 Love that dirty water 🎶
After we spoke with Joseph Kenney, owner of Joe’s Crazzy Critters, about a baby alligator sighting, he went to the location where it was seen and rescued him from the cold Boston-area waters. on.nbcboston.com/BKlcjDF
What's that in the Charles River? ‘Oh my gosh! That's a baby alligator'
A woman out for a run along the Charles River in Boston took video of a baby alligator in the water on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Joseph Kenney said he caught it.

Dealer René Gimpel recalled Monet’s palette piled with “snowy peaks” of lead white.

Unlike earlier painters who worked from dark grounds, Monet painted outward from luminosity. One artist said: “He paints as if light itself were his medium.”

The Brits have stopped sharing drug trafficking intel w/us in the Caribbean, Latin American region. They believe our extra judicial killings are illegal. If you’ve worked on this stuff or w/ the Brits, you know this is really a big deal. DOD folks—your professional liability insurance won’t work.

Made a mess this morning in the microwave, didn’t realize it takes 10 minutes.
Will try the rice maker tonight for tomorrow morning. Breakfast shouldn’t be this difficult!

If you feel overwhelmed, remember that you can still make a difference doing little things. A compliment or word of encouragement, a tip to a favorite takeout place, a donation to a local charity, an email to your favorite author, time with a pet, a walk outside, or a phone call to a loved one.

Records of Hawaii Marines from November, 1942. Less than one year since Pearl Harbor. Their time is spent training the new defense battalions, and inspecting new facilities in places like then-NAS Kaneohe. Still made time at 1000 to celebrate the birthday.
