Hey! First post on Bluesky! I'm Sophie, and where did my username come from? Cwningen is the Welsh word for rabbit and "lleuad" is moon in Welsh. It came from this piece of Japanese folklore which I found interesting, wherein the rabbit makes mochi in a pestle! 🐰

Are there any good ways of learning Kernewek/Cornish online or through any media? Can you recommend me some?

I know that Radio Cornwall has a news bulletin in Cornish, and @gwennosaunders.bsky.social has songs in Cornish like "Tir ha mor" and "An Stevel Nowydh".

Sincerely signed,
A curious Emmet.

If Ireland, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Spain and Iceland are to boycott the ESC, then why isn't the UK doing it? If the country at large won't, then I sure as hell will.

Israel, stop pretending to be a beacon for human rights and democracy whilst stripping Palestinian people of their human rights.
Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Iceland, and the Netherlands say they will boycott next year’s Eurovision if Israel participates.

A potential participation for the UK should be deemed as untenable for as long as Israel are committing a horrendous genocide/ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. It would be the morally correct thing for the UK to do in boycotting Eurovision. If Ireland are boycotting, why can't we?
Sign the petition: tell the BBC to boycott Eurovision unless Israel is banned
This is big: Spain's state broadcasters have said they'll boycott Eurovision unless Israel is banned. We need the BBC to do the same to up the pressure on the competition's bosses. Sign the petition n...

McRaper is suing Sky News for defamation for calling him a rapist. Context in comments.

How is it defamation when he was found guilty of being a rapist, albeit civilly not criminally. Sky News reporter wasn't the only one to call him a rapist as you can hear. He hasn't reported any untruths.

X is a hotbed for xenophobia, racism, homophobia, transphobia and disinformation.

Keeping it live would be approving and allowing that behaviour to circulate and affect our political climate in the UK, giving a voice to commentators who espouse racist and other bigoted views.
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

This week is #TransAwarenessWeek.

Trans people have the same right to freedom, joy, safety, and healthcare as everyone else. But in the UK and across the world, their rights are under attack.

We need to stand up to transphobia and guarantee everyone’s dignity.

It can be a clawdd, gwrych, sietin or perth. All of these are correct.

The clocks went back yesterday. Well, not if you're a supporter of Reform.

As those clocks wound back almost 90 years to a time where fascism and Nazism was a normalised political ideology. Meaning that the people they didn't see fit were either killed or blamed for the shortcomings of the country.
