There are reasonable grounds for criticising proscription of Palestine Action, namely because it was bloody stupid, when you see what groups aren't. That proscription becomes secondary to optics of police expending more forces to arrest an 80 year old than someone threatening to burn asylum seekers.

In German we call that a "Fachidiot" meaning "expert idiot". That's someone who's very smart in their field but otherwise an utter dunce.
