Head of IT at a zangy boomy ADR studio in SoCal (my opinions here are my own). Mainly here for art, tech, cat memes, and some occasional cloud shouting. I speak rarely, repost often.
It is currently 4:20am on Thanksgiving, and there is a line at Porto’s in Burbank stretching half a block.

Saw a promo for Gnosia introducing a character named Chipie.

Is that an actual whole-ass cat protruding from the side of his motherfscking NECK?!!

Two criminally underrated anime: Kaleido Star, and Crest of the Stars.

Funimation/Crunchyroll has the license, yet only ever released them on DVD. Such a travesty that neither of them have gotten a Blu-Ray release in the states as of yet. Quite on brand for CR.

I'll name two. Kaleido Star, and Crest of the Stars.

Such a travesty that neither of them have gotten a Blu-Ray release in the states yet.

Got one still in the shrink-wrap. Think one day it'll be worth the $19.95 cover price?

This was my gateway to anime fandom setting the trajectory for my whole life. Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, June 1992 edition, Page 60.

Saw a blurb for something called Ranma 1/2. It fascinated me, and I went on a literal years-long pre-internet hunt, and found a world of anime from there.

A decade ago I had the honor to work on a soulful music film called "Rudderless".

Despite an all-star cast it got very little attention in the US and only a DVD release, but shockingly it got a Criterion quality BD in Korea, of all places. Just got my copy.

Give it a watch for yourself if you can.

In case anyone was ever curious where some of your janky Amazon returns go.

They go to literal rummage markets such as this one in Lake Elsinore.

It’s starting.

Here’s the price tag of a t-shirt at Spencer’s Gifts in Riverside, California.

$27.99 CAD on one side, $28.99 USD on the other.

It’s only upwards from here.

Cheeto's old slogan of "How's your 401(k) doing?" hits different lately.

Much though I had long parted ways with Anime Expo years ago after some shenanigans on their part (I was with them 15 years, too), a friend who stuck around and remained a loyal volunteer (read: free labor) for a total of nearly TWO DECADES just recently got this notice.

Absolutely infuriating.

Shouting this out into the void:

Can anyone identify the source #anime for these images? It's supposedly from a #yaoi anime.

I ran into a similar problem with a bunch of similar holes at my office. The way I handled it was to remove the wall plate and cover the hole with one of these. Unfortunately it isn't flush, but it does look reasonably clean.

Damn… so many good ribbons. Heard someone was handing out these, triggering flashbacks of AX2002 and 2007.

Remember Google Reader? #Yahoo had a simplified alternative at my.yahoo.com. It would present the top 10 headlines of whatever RSS feeds you subscribed to.

Loved it. I used it multiple times a day every day for ~20 years. And now it's going away.

Time to see about self-hosted #RSS aggregators.

I remember it only because my job was delivering content to it back in its heyday... ...which wasn't for very long.

Which reminds me... Anybody remember go90?
