It's my ma's birthday today. I found this photo among others in a duffel bag tucked way back in a closet. Stuff I haven't seen before including VHS tapes. Next thing to work on is getting those tapes on DVD. Who knows. Folks say I take after my dad more but I think otherwise? Not sure.

I'm making my late pa's rib recipe with a slight twist in seasoning: everything is the same except I added home dried orange peel and ground coffee. Oh and paprika. I feel like it's a baby spice that can go in anything, and I have so much of it lol. 🍽️

As it is Black History Month, and also a tumultuous time for trans folk, I want to remind white gays that the entire gay rights movement was sparked by the Stonewall Riot, and the first to act was a Black Trans Woman.
Gay history is Trans history is Black history. You cannot separate them.
