I made my own, it has some poly pockets on the back, so I could slot in pages of info. I used it to hang things like 'this is what the big bad looks like' , with stats on my side, a picture facing the players.

That whole film is all kinds of wrong, even the boardgame from 1976 has the right idea.
This is a vintage board game titled Starship Troopers, based on the novel by Robert Heinlein. It is a wargame for two players, released in 1976 by Avalon Hill. The game is a strategy-based "Man vs. Monster" game, the monsters in question being The Skinnies and The Bugs. It is based on the 1959 science fiction novel of the same name, later criticised by Michael Moorcock in his essay Starship Stormtroopers.
