My new cheap and cheerful data and power distribution box a #SVBONY SV241. I knocked up a home-made PWM controller for the dew shield using a #M5Stack Atom Matrix and Atom PWM base.

The shakedown session, with a few galaxies. Here is M51 and M101. #Celestron CPC-800 F6.3, #LiveStacking #ZWO ASI533M

Lunar live stacking with #SharpCap , #Celestron CPC-800 F6 and #PlayerOneAstronomy Ares-C Pro camera. The Moon was 22% and 32 degrees high. Lunar/Solar/Planetary tool in SharpCap is amazing for real-time views. A little overexposed but had a great time exploring with the help of Virtual Moon Atlas.

Messier 42 - Great Orion Nebula, live stacked in #SharpCap - 15sec x 50 subs with Altair Astro 294C, CPC-800 @ F6.3. The first object I observed when I started EAA. From that moment, I knew I was selling my eyepieces 😀

The Sky Searchers Forum has added an #EAA Double Star Challenge (theskysearchers.com/viewforum.ph...). As a fun exercise, I measured the separation and position angle of the stars from my images using AstroImageJ (www.astro.louisville.edu/software/ast...) 😀The results matched with the WDS catalogue

#SharpCap live stacked image of the planetary nebula Messier 27 (M27). Exactly, how you see the object live! That's
#EAA! Visual astronomy is dead😀

#EAA setup part 2! This YouTube video from December 2022 shows my basic setup. Since then, the laptop has been replaced with a mini-PC, but the main setup is still the same.

EAA reignited my interest in #Astronomy. The colour, structure and detail is amazing.

Here's my #EAA setup part 1. A 15 year old, Celestron CPC-800 (8 inch SCT/Alt-Az mount). F6.3 focal reducer, Celestron Electronic Focuser, and in this case a Player One Ares-C PRO camera. Stubby mount arms requires a diagonal to get the correct back focus (105mm), and not hit the mount!

Storm Bert, swirls off the coast of Ireland and the UK. Meteor M2 image 10:38 UTC (23/11/2024). Processed/decoded in SatDump 1.2.1, AirSpy Mini #SDR & turnstile antenna in the loft.

It's windy out there. Stay safe everybody.

I have always been interested in astronomy, and in the last few years I have replaced my eyepiece with a camera. I still observe in real-time, using live stacking software. Electronic Assisted Astronomy #EAA, is simply amazing.

Here is my attempt at capturing a comet.
