“Your password must be 4 digits long and contain only numbers.”

That’s not a password and do you really need to explain what a digit is?

I think @alexvont.bsky.social if the @bunkerpod.bsky.social might want to listen to @therestpolitics.bsky.social as they seem to have the answer!

The bus driver has just asked someone to either use their earphones or turn the sound down on their phone. What was she doing? She was having a video call on speakerphone with a screaming baby! The call seemed to involve waving at the baby!!

Three young people just pedaloed past singing “Knowing me, knowing you”. I shouted Aha! In my best Alan Partridge. They looked a bit confused.

This is brilliant!
On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked,

"If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?"

The driver of the black Range Rover 200 MB just pulled out in front of our moving bus with his thumb up, as if thanking our driver, the bus had to brake and sound its horn. He’s still catching the same red lights as us several stops later!

Have you ever wondered how on Earth mountains are made?

Using our mountain building experiment, BGS' Teddy demonstrates how tectonic plates slowly move; folding, faulting & uplifting rock to create towering peaks.

I heard that Google had renamed the Gulf of Mexico for US users, I wondered what us over here might see! Apple are holding out. Neither has renamed Denali yet.

Murphy’s instead of Guinness? How about trying a decent stout or porter from an independent brewery?

The Connections game at NYT today has a nice nod towards David Lynch. I guess they couldn’t find any way of connecting Mulholland! I assume the Jack Dee reference is accidental.

Two quotes from Badenoch’s speech:

“From now on, we are going to be telling the British people the truth even when it is difficult to hear.”

“Since July, there has been more discussion in Parliament on Oasis tickets than on our £2.7 trillion debt pile.”

The second is demonstrably false!

The Red Guitars were a great political band with a lush guitar sound right from when they appeared in the 80s with their brilliant single Good Technology. They reformed a short while ago, toured, recorded a new album and then split again. youtu.be/9c7vhY2-PFE

2025 is a square. Barring something very unlikely happening, this will be the only square year I will experience (at least in part). My dad will have been alive in two square years, part of a relatively small group of people alive today.

The political use of the hyphen over the ampersand!

(Yes, if he’s going to claim he was 46 he really should use an en-dash, but that’s another discussion.)
