I can't get over how these are all so completely D tier 'moon landing was fake' gotchas. Google for 5 seconds and you will find 5000 people debunking each of these very comprehensively. You only believe these if you have chosen to believe them and avoided other evidence. How do you combat that?

I also tried just opening a .png file (assuming view.p64 would be the default app?), but nothing happens. I checked that the task manager shows version 0.2.1

I just installed the update from the Picotron website (on Windows), I don't seem to have the view.p64 (assume it would be with the other system apps?) and when I try adding the @ to paths, Picotron crashes to desktop without any error given.

bottom line: we (liberals, lefties, anti-racists, pro-trans, et all) simply cannot accept the implicit premise that fascists are the authentic brits, that they have the right to be heard & we do not, that any disagreement must be solved by us listening to them

But if they get just a bit more racist, they'll definitely start winning over some of those Reform voters. I mean, it didn't work for the Tories and Labour's popularity is currently abysmal, but all they need is a smidge more racism and it'll definitely turn around for them.

When will the conservative (and to be honest, often also liberal) parties of Europe realise there's no point on the racism dial where you're racist enough to win the Reform/AfD/etc. voters but not so racist that you disgust everyone else?

Why would you look at what the UK tried here and want to copy it? It failed on every front - cost hundreds of millions, managed to deport exactly 4 people (all volunteers), was never popular with the public, and did nothing to attract voters away from our far-right party. Also, morally abhorrent!

Similarly, I can't imagine licking Francium would go well for you either - it's an alkali metal, extremely radioactive and it's usually only found inside uranium ore.

And with @lexaloffle.bsky.social's recent updates to Picotron, I've just released what I'm broadly considering the 'finished' version. It now does everything I wanted it to (and more). I'm not ruling out more updates, but happy with what I've achieved with it!

Exactly! It is one of the simplest things, no cost, absolute minimal need to accept someone's identity. There is no world in which someone is happy for a trans woman to use the women's bathroom, but finds calling her 'she' a step too far. It's a nonsense position.

These Discworld QOTDs got me to start reading these books again after not having read one since I was a kid. I just wanted to say thanks for that. Pratchett was such an incredible author.

Even in his imagined world where you've got a load of parents who are lazy and bad and having kids even though they know they can't afford them, why do the kids deserve to suffer for that? Don't we owe anything to the children who obviously have done nothing wrong?

Is it intended that background processes are so heavily affecting the performance of the active process? e.g. with the normal cart editors running (code editor with a few files open, gfx, sound, etc.), even a cart that's using ~0.1 cpu is running at 30fps.

Every day it becomes less clear what the difference is between this government and most of the Tory governments we've had for the last decade. Same anti-immigrant stuff that is more about proving they're racist enough than actually solving any real problems.
